Age Requirement (17+)

The Service is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by local law). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

1) What Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: (A) information you provide, (B) information collected automatically, and (C) information collected when you choose to use optional features such as location or AI processing.

A. Information you provide (Account and Support)

  • Account information: name, username, email address (if you create or use an account).
  • Customer support content: messages and attachments you send to us (for example, support requests).

B. Information collected automatically (Usage, Device, Diagnostics)

  • Device information: device model, operating system version, language, app version, device identifiers (where available/necessary for functionality).
  • Usage data: basic interaction and usage statistics (for example, feature usage, session events).
  • Crash and performance logs: diagnostic data to help us fix bugs and improve reliability.

C. Location information (Only if you allow it)

If you enable location permissions, we may collect approximate and/or precise location information to support location-related features. You can turn off location sharing at any time in your device settings.

D. Photos and Face-Related Data (No biometric identification)

If you choose to upload photos or images for generating content:

  • We do not perform facial recognition or biometric identification.
  • We do not create biometric profiles.
  • Image processing (if used) is limited to the requested generation task, and we delete uploaded images and generated intermediate files promptly after processing (see “AI Features and Processing” below).
  • By default, your journal/capsule entries are stored locally on your device and encrypted, unless you choose to upload content for a specific feature.

E. Cookies / Similar Technologies (If applicable)

If the Service includes web-based components (for example, a sign-in flow or embedded web content), cookies and similar technologies (including web beacons) may be used for login/session management, remembering preferences, and security and fraud prevention. You may control cookies through your device or browser settings where applicable. Some features may not function without them.

2) How We Use Information

  • Provide and maintain the Service (including account creation, authentication, and core features)
  • Personalize your experience and provide guided self-reflection features
  • Improve the Service (analytics, debugging, performance, feature development)
  • Security, fraud prevention, and abuse prevention
  • Customer support and communications (including responding to requests)
  • Compliance with legal obligations and enforcing our rights

We do not sell your personal information.

3) Billanee’s Core Privacy Approach (Local & Encrypted by Default)

  • Your time capsule entries are stored locally on your device by default.
  • Entries are encrypted on device (and we aim to minimize the collection of unnecessary data).

Important: If you choose to use features that require uploading content (such as optional AI generation), the specific content you select will be transmitted to our servers for processing as described below.

4) AI Features and Processing (Optional)

Billanee may offer AI-assisted features such as generating reflections, prompts, or summaries based on your past entries and/or user-provided images or text (collectively, “AI Features”).

  • What is processed: only the text and/or images you explicitly choose to upload for the AI Feature.
  • Where it is processed: the content is processed on servers controlled by Billanee Team (our own servers).
  • No third-party sharing: we do not share your uploaded AI content with any third parties.
  • Deletion after processing: once processing is complete, we delete the uploaded content and any generated intermediate processing artifacts from our servers as soon as reasonably possible.
  • Your control: you control whether to upload content and whether to generate AI outputs.

We do not use your uploaded AI content to train models for marketing or advertising purposes.

5) How We Share Information

We share information only in the limited circumstances below, and only to the minimum extent necessary:

  • With your consent or at your direction (for example, if you choose to export or share content).
  • With service providers/contractors acting on our behalf (“processors”) to support operations such as infrastructure, security, and customer support, under contractual obligations to protect information and use it only for the services we request.
  • For legal reasons: to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental requests.
  • To protect rights and safety: to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected fraud, abuse, or security issues; to enforce our terms; or to protect our rights, property, and safety or that of users or others.

Note on AI Features: Uploaded AI content is processed on our own servers and is not shared with third parties.

6) International Data Transfers

If you access the Service from outside the country where our servers or operations are located, your information may be transferred to and processed in other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent mechanisms.

7) Data Security

  • Encryption in transit and at rest (where applicable)
  • Access controls and least-privilege practices
  • Regular security reviews/audits and monitoring
  • Backups and disaster recovery practices

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You use the Service at your own risk.

8) Data Retention

  • Account information: retained while your account is active.
  • Deletion requests: if you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize personal information within 30 days, unless a longer period is required by law.
  • Usage and analytics: retained for up to 12 months.
  • Support communications: retained for up to 6 months.

Local entries stored on your device remain under your control unless you choose to remove them.

9) Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights such as:

  • Access your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete information
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent)

To exercise these rights, email us at yfxqamakro3844@outlook.com. We will respond within 5 business days where feasible, and in accordance with applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling requests.

Location and permissions can also be managed via your device settings.

10) Third-Party Services

The Service may interact with third-party platforms only when necessary for functionality (for example, Apple’s services for purchases or sign-in, if used). Third-party services are governed by their own privacy policies.

11) Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the Effective Date and, where required, provide additional notice in the app or by other means. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the updated Policy to the extent permitted by law.
